Stand with Kildare Road Medical Centre on Cervical Cancer Awareness Day 💖

Each year, Cervical Cancer Awareness Day is an important reminder that cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers – and that regular screening saves lives.

At Kildare Road Medical Centre, the Women’s Health Clinic supports women in Blacktown and Western Sydney to take a proactive approach to cervical health through education, screening, and timely care.

Why Cervical Cancer Awareness Matters

  • Early detection saves lives
Regular Cervical Screening Tests can identify changes early, often before cancer develops.

  • Prevention is achievable
With screening and HPV vaccination, cervical cancer elimination is a realistic goal.

  • Empowering women through knowledge
Understanding when and how to screen helps women make informed decisions about their health.

Women’s Health & Cervical Screening in Blacktown

The Women’s Health Clinic at Kildare Road Medical Centre provides access to comprehensive cervical and reproductive health services, including:

  • Cervical Screening Tests (CST / Pap smears)

  • HPV screening and follow-up care

  • Contraception and reproductive health support

  • Referral pathways to gynaecology and specialist services, when clinically required

Consultations are provided by experienced female GPs who consult from the centre, offering care in a respectful, supportive, and confidential environment.

When Should You Book a Cervical Screening Test?

If you are 25 to 74 years old and have ever been sexually active, regular cervical screening is recommended – even if you feel well or have had normal results in the past.

If you’re unsure whether you’re due for a test, a GP consulting at the centre can discuss your individual circumstances and screening schedule.
