Kildare Road Medical Centre Skin Cancer Clinic is a dedicated service for the detection and treatment of skin cancers.
Regular skin examinations and monitoring of existing skin lesions can drastically improve chances of early diagnosis and successful treatment of skin cancers.
The consulting doctors have a special interest in Skin Cancer medicine, and with no referral necessary you can be checked for potentially dangerous skin cancers and melanoma.
The skin clinic doctors also perform Advanced Skin Cancer Surgery at an affordable price. All skin checks are bulk billed. Procedure costs are determined by doctors and they will advise you prior to an procedure what the cost is.
All patients will be thoroughly examined by one of our Skin Cancer Doctors. If treatment is necessary, they will let you know what your treatment options are.
Services include:
A standard appointment involves a full skin check. If your Skin Doctor thinks you need a biopsy or other small procedure not requiring sutures, these will normally be done at the same time. A standard appointment generally lasts 15-20 minutes. If you need follow-up treatment or surgery this will be booked to take place at a subsequent appointment.
Remember, a full skin check requires you to get undressed to underwear. Please don’t wear makeup, sunscreen or moisturiser to your appointment.
The clinic’s doctors are not dermatologists but have a special interest in the treatment of skin cancers and melanomas. All the doctors in the Clinic are members of the Skin Cancer College Australasia and have more than 20 years combined experience in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer and melanoma.
If you need treatments for skin cancer then the treatment options will depend on the type of skin cancer you have and how far it has progressed. Potential treatments will be discussed with you by your doctor and can include surgery, freezing, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy or chemotherapy.
Remember – early detection generally requires less intervention and often leads to a better outcome.
• An initial skin check will be bulk billed for anyone with a valid medicare card.
• After the doctor does the assessment, the doctor will decide if the patient needs a procedure or not.
• If your doctor determines that you need a procedure, they will notify you of the cost.
