Our Approach to Quality and Safety

How we are governed

Kildare Road Medical Centre is governed by four Directors, and its day-to-day operation is led by the Practice Manager and the Management Team. The general practitioners and allied health providers practising at the centre engage in the management and oversight of the practice through the GP Advisory Committee, and in clinical governance through the monthly Doctors’ Continuing Professional Development Lunch.

At Kildare Road Medical Centre, our Clinical Governance Framework sets out how we deliver safe, high-quality healthcare to our patients and our community. The Framework is anchored to the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Standards for general practices and to the National Model Clinical Governance Framework, and is organised around five components.

Governance, leadership and a culture of safety and quality.

Patient safety and quality improvement systems

Clinical performance and effectiveness

A safe environment for the delivery of care

Partnering with patients

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health

We are committed to providing safe, culturally appropriate healthcare to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Our Aboriginal Health Clinic is led by an Aboriginal nurse, working in partnership with the Indigenous Health Project Officer of the Integrated Team Care program in Western Sydney.

Our Reconciliation Action Plan and our Aboriginal Advisory Committee guide our work in this area.
